Precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) is a cost effective, high performance replacement for titanium dioxide (TiO2). Generally, PCC can displace 15-25% of the TiO2 in a typical formulation and generate significant raw material cost savings. PCC has excellent optical properties due to the small median particle size, controlled particle size distribution, and high brightness. In addition to opacity, precipitated calcium carbonate also provides gloss, flow, leveling, durability, film toughness, permeability and dyne rheology.
Mississippi Lime provides precipitated calcium carbonate products across a broad spectrum of particle sizes, shapes, oil absorptions, and specific gravity. In the powder form - Magnum Fill® SD, Magnum Fill® M, Magnum Fill® SDL, Magnum Fill® HO97, Magnum Gloss® SD, and Magnum Gloss® M. In the slurry form, Magnum Fill® 50% stabilized, Magnum Fill® 65% stabilized, Magnum Fill® 65%, Magnum Fill® 70% and Magnum Gloss® 72%. Magnum Fill® and Magnum Gloss® precipitated calcium carbonates. Magnum Fill® HO97 is a product with unique morphology that provides excellent opacity and hide in coating applications
